The NFL Team with the Highest Scoring in a Single Game was Washington Redskins 72 it was against the New York Giants 41. It happened in November 27, 1966, Sunday. It was on RFK Stadium with a 50,439 pack of people in Washington, DC. There was only 7 seconds left and the score was 69-41 in the match between the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. This was already recorded as the highest scoring game in professional football history. Then a play of a most peculiar game happened with only 7-seconds remaining on 4th down. A 23 yard line up was made by the Giants.
Tom Kennedy the Quarterback seemed to lost track of downs and though it was third down, hurled the ball out of bounds that resulted in a turn over for New York. The Redskins requested for a time out and on the resuming play, a 29-yard field goal was kicked by Charlie Gogolak to increase the score to 72-41.
