More than 100 Years of Premium Quality
Founded in 1905, the Hebrew National Kosher Sausage Factory, Inc., served the Jewish immigrant neighborhoods of New York City from its original location in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

A Romanian immigrant butcher who began his career peddling meat from the back of a horse-drawn wagon, Isadore Pinckowitz (later known as Isadore Pines) bought the Hebrew National Kosher Sausage Factory in 1928. He began selling kosher sausages and hot dogs to many of New York’s deli restaurants and for Waldbaum’s, the city’s largest grocery chain catering to Jewish households.

In 1935, Isadore’s son Leonard took over the business. During the ’40s, Hebrew National® broke into the newly booming suburban market by creating products especially for supermarkets. In the process, the company became the industry leader, demonstrating that kosher foods appealed to a much wider base than just ethnic markets and consumers.

Hebrew National Today

The Great Peyton Manning

Playing in the NFL means that you are part of an elite group of football players. Since the game is followed by a wide number of consumers, it means a lot deals and endorsements, thus a lot of money. This could lead to a lot of athletes being stuck up, greedy, and selfish. They tend to forget what it was like when they just played for the love of the game. This aspect alone tends to turn off a lot of people from professional sports. While this is a reality, it’s sucha relief to know that there are still players around that have a lot of heart.

Peyton Manning is regarded to be one of the best quarterbacks of all time. He is one of only two people to have recieved the MVP award three times, and a 94.7 passer rating, which is second all time. Though his statistics alone show how great of a player he is, there are things about thim that go way beyond his talent.

What he’s been doing for quite sometime now is send hand-written letters to former opponents of his that have recently retired. He would write them and tell them how much he’s respected the way they played, and how much they have given to the game of football. It would be great if other players would follow this example.

Super Bowl Cardinals Football

It has been a big question so far whether or not Kurt Warner would continue to play football. He’s been aching to retire for quite a while now, and every little thing could push him to do so.

The Cardinals had a great ‘08 season. For the first time in history, they have reached to Superbow but the problem is that it might take a long time for them to return. One of the most important pieces that made them so successful was offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Now, he was hired by the Kansas Chiefs as their new head coach.

As a quarterback, it’s important that you get along with the offensive coordinator you are working with. Especially if you’re a veteran like Warner, it would be difficult to adjust your game according to someone else’s style. Warner says that he wouldn’t want to take a step back and that if ever he retires, the departure of Haley wouldn’t be the main reason, but surely a big factor in his decision.

Hopefully all goes well for the Cardinals because as of now, it seems as though they are slowly losing their personell, in spite of having the most cap room in the NFC.

Just like with everything, we have to move on and look if there are greener pastures out there.  The Cardinals had an amazing run last season, and it was thanks to their unstoppable offense. This could easily attributed to Warner, Fitzgerald, Boldin, and the others but the one that had orchestrated it all it non other than offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

It was during the NFC championships that we witnessed how fired up Haley can get, when he had a moment with Boldin; but that’s ok and it’s all part of the game. Now that the Superbowl is over, everyone is hiring galore.

For the past 2 seasons, the Kansas Chiefs have only won 6 games and are looking to rebuild their team. One of their moves is to hire Todd Haley as their head coach. This is a great idea, considering what he had shown the NFL during the last few seasons, and he will be enough to turn around the  Chiefs.

So what will become of the Cardinals? It really is difficult to say at this point in time. Hopefully Warner does not retire, and Boldin does not leave the team when his contract expires in two years.

American Football is one of the most exciting games that anyone could play or watch. It simply is a good release of agression, and it let’s you be healthy as well. The problem is that the human body has it’s limits, and it sometimes just breaks down. This makes football a dangerous sport as well, because of the serious injuries it can cause. Without the proper safety measures, one could end his career in an instant.

For this reason alone, the NFL has certain rules to keep the players safety in check. One of them is the rule of “no contact and no pads” during offseason mini camp. It would be heartless of a coach to break such a rule, because it is for the safety of their players.

The NFL is now questioning the mini camp of the Houston Texans. There were several team player representatives that have already complained to the NFL about coach Gary Kubiak’s methods, still it seems as if the rule is still constantly broken. Because of this, 3 players suffered injuries that were season ending.

It’s really upsetting that a coach would do such a thing and jeopardize the dreams, aspirations, and careers of his dedicated players.

What to Do During the Offseason pt.2

It really is difficult to choose an activity after a great NFL season. With all the stress that you get from work, it really is important to have an outlet or some sort of escape so that you are kept sane. Working nowadays can be so fast paced that it can get really difficult on the soul. That’s probably one of the reasons why the NFL is so appealling; it let’s you enjoy a great game while you relax on your sofa and sipping an ice cold beer. With the season over, there are a lot of things you can do while waiting for the next season to start.

A great way to alleviate stress for most people is to go on a road trip. If you are able to stumble upon a long weekend, it would be a great time to have a road trip and spend time with you family, friends, and other loved ones. Go wherever you want, after all, there are so many places in the US that you can go to that would surely be great on the soul.

Another good idea would be to try and learn a new skill. If you feel like you want to be like one of those guys you see on UFC, then you have a lot of options and places to go to, so that you can learn how to fight MMA style.

The Blitz-Buster

Upon hearing the name of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the first thing that goes into the mind of football enthusiasts are their defense. This is thanks to defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau and his mega blitzing defense. It was evident that in the Superbowl, it was working until a few minor mishaps.

In the same football mental plane of Manning and Brady, Kurt Warner is one of the few quarterbacks in the history of the NFL that can break the blitz with ease. He just knows how it works whether he studied it carefully, or just simply has a natural affinity towards breaking through the blitz.

During the first half of Superbowl 43, the Steelers were able to limit Kurt Warner to 135 passing yard. This was because LeBeau would rush only four on passing plays, so that 7 defenders would remain in coverage. For some reason, LeBeau would start to use a lot of 5 man rushes. This is what spelled disaster for the Steelers defense. When Warner saw the 5 man rushes, in his mind was probably “big mistake”, and would eventually knit pick the defense and would end up with 222 more yards.

Amazing Game, Amazing Plays

Superbowls are readily expected to be spectacular and exciting events. This is the reason why so many viewers tune in to the Superbowl every year. Even those who don’t follow the Superbowl religiously make sure that they make time in their busy schedules to watch it. Especially with what technology can offer nowadays, everyone always have options so that they won’t miss it. Superbowl 43 was no exception and it once again delivered the goods.

The first epic play that fans were able to witness was the 100 yard return of James Harrison. It was with this play that he proved that nobody can stop the Silverback. He intercepted the pass by Warner, and dashed through 2 defenders to get the touchdown.

Another amazing feat was the 4th quarter explotion of Larry Fitzgerald. Offensive coordinator Haley found the right adjustment to counter the blitzing defense of the Steelers, and Fitzgerald instantly got 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter.

Last but not the least, was the great catch that Santonio Holmes had to get the Steelers the lead, and the win as well. It was MVP worthy, and true enough, he earned the Superbowl MVP award.

Hello, Hall of Fame

The Superbowl is a great way for athletes to prove to people that they are worthy of being inducted to the Hall of Fame. This was true for a few people in the Superbowl, and they all didn’t disappoint as the game progressed.

Kurt Warner has been a great player and has been able to prove his worth during the course of his career. In spite of already winning a Superbowl, a lot of people have still been doubtful that he is Hall of Fame worthy. The chances that it was going to be his last season were high, but he became a started for the Arizona Cardinals, and brought this problematic team all the way to the Superbowl. During the Superbowl, he was able to pass 377 yards and get 3 touchdowns. Even though the Cardinals lost, he was able to secure his spot in the Hall of Fame, and gave a good slap on the face of his doubters.

Another QB that has secured a seat is Ben Roethlisberger. This is already his 2nd Superbowl championship, and he still isn’t even in his prime. At the age of 26, he’s still considered to be a great playing waiting to bloom, yet he has already accomplished so much.

Offensive NFL Era

One of the most common things that you would hear around the NFL is that defense win championships. That has been true for most of the years of the NFL, but there seems to be a different wave of thought for the past few seasons. It seems as if teams have become more and more offensive, and that championships are won through offense.

If you take a look at the past two Superbowls, the Colts and the Giants won through offense and clearly not through their defense. They won the Superbowls in spite of that fact that their defense didn’t even reach the top 10. With Superbowl 43, it wasn’t the Steelers’ popular defense that won the game, but their amazing plays with Big Ben’s 78 yard touchdown drive, James Harrison’s record breaking 100 yard return, and Santonio Holmes’ amazing catch.

Another thing is that you have to give the Cardinals credit even if they didn’t win the Superbowl. They pushed and reached to Superbowl in spite of their dismal display of defense. It was their unstoppable offense that took them to where they got to.

So it seems as if we are reaching an NFL era of offense. This would surely be more exciting for the fans to watch.

Mr. MVP

Super Bowl XLIII Football

The Superbowl is really something that only a few people would ever experience, and to narrow it down further, fewer people experience ever winning it. Now you think that would be rare enough, but you can just imagine how rare athletes are that experience being the Superbowl MVP. After Superbowl 43, Santonio Holmes was named MVP.

It wasn’t always a life of triumph for Holmes. Having a troubled upbringing, he had admitted to selling drugs in Florida when he was still a teenager. It’s a good thing he turned to sports and eventually excelled. The thing is, his career has gone through a roller coaster ride of ups and downs.

When he recieved the award for Superbowl MVP, his smile shined brighter than the trophy itself. You can see in his eyes how truly humbled he was, and that he was able to share this moment of triumph to the rest of the world.

It really is touching to hear about stories of men and women overcoming adversity, no matter what the circumstances are. It is a testament to the human heart and spirit.

Aside from their slightly improved defense, the run of the Arizona Cardinals last season was largely due to their phenomenal offense. It really is difficult to defend against three 1,000 yard recievers, and a quarterback like Kurt Warner as well. They pushed all the way to the Superbowl, and almost had the game if it weren’t for lapses in defense for the last minute. One of the key players of the Cardinals was Anquan Boldin.

Of course we all remember that petty but heated arguement he had on the sidelines with offensive coordinator Haley. That’s over and we can all agree that it was only an isolated incident, and that Boldin truly is an important part of the Cardinal organization. The problem is that he has two years left on his contract, and says that there is only a slim chance that he will be signing with them again.

Well, a reason for this could be that he’s just saying that so he has more leverage when the renewal of his contract will be negotiated. It probably would be easy if Larry Fitzgerald keeps his word. Fitzgerald says that he will do anything to keep Boldin on the team.

The Go to Guy

In sports, there are a lot of heroic performances out there that would establish athletes and their careers. A lot of times, we expect some people to perform and deliver the goods, but fail to do so when it really counts. There are players that are not expected to do anything at all, but become the heroes of the team. An example of this would be the Chicago Bulls’ Micheal Jordan era. They needed to score a bucket in order to win the NBA finals against the Jazz. Everyone expected Jordan to come up with the winning shot, but instead chose to give Steve Kerr a chance to shine; he did so and established himself as a great player.

A case like this was present during Superbowl 43. Of course, everyone would expect the ball to be thrown to Hines Ward in a crucial Steelers play. Santonio Holmes asked for the ball, and wanted to be the go to guy for that crucial play. He did and made a stellar catch, and gave the Steelers their 6th Superbowl championship. Now he has established himself as a great NFL player for that amazing catch, and the balls to do so.
