Cornerstone Partner of the Jets and Giants

The New stadium for the Giants and Jets have a new cornerstone, it is PepsiCo who signed an agreement as the fourth cornerstone. The New Meadowlands Stadium Corporation declared the multiyear deal on Thursday. There are still no contract deals available. Verizon, MetLife and Budweiser are the other three who had previously signed contracts as cornerstone partners for the $1.6 billion stadium that is projected to open next spring with a Bon Jovi concert. The first game of the NFL will be played in the summer.
The teams are still looking to sell the naming rights of the new stadium that is being built next to Giants Stadium. PepsiCo proposes the world’s biggest portfolio of beverage and food brands. The deal is begining at the start of the 2010 season. It will provide the company exclusivity in beverage at the stadium for all non-alcoholic beverages. Pepsi and Gatorade are still the official soft drink and sports drink of the teams.
Favre Says He’s Not Out for Revenge Against Pack

Brett Favre firmly insists he isn’t out for revenge against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. Or so he says, now he says it’s only human for him to feel like he has to prove something to the team he spent for so long and has traded him. Favre will be wearing quite the familiar purple uniforms of the Packers’ bitter NFC North rival, the Vikings, at the Metrodome on Monday night, but has repeatedly said that his point for all career moves was not for revenge.
Part of Favre’s motivation last year for coming back was so that he could “stick it” to Thompson, Favre accredited he did want to show the Packers he still belonged in the NFL. Favre said his chief motivation for signing with the Vikings as a free agent — after calling it quits for a second time subsequent to a season with the Jets—was to win a Super Bowl. Well, maybe Favre isn’t out for revenge against the Pack after all.

The saying “there is no I in TEAM” would fit American Football real easily. While you might have a really great player on your team, if he doesn’t acknowledge his team mates and plays like he’s the only player on the team, then it wouldn’t be worth anything. The whole football team must work in unison in order to win games. What a team always needs is leadership.
Leadership is one quality that Ray Lewis has. He’s won the Defensive Player of the Year award twice, and one of the few linebackers to ever win a Superbowl MVP award. He is just phenomenal on the field and strikes fear in the hearts of the offense. The great thing about him is that he has great leadership qualities, and thus able to bring out the best in his team mates. If the people around him are good football players, he would then turn them into great ones.
The question now is whether he will be staying with the Baltimore Ravens. If ever they want to redeem themselves and possibly want to be a strong contender next season, they would definitely have to keep him. If not, then the Jets and Cowboys have an eye on him.
Schottenheimer Not Affected

When it comes to work, you’d want to get promoted. The reasons for this is quite obvious, and want to get promoted especially if you think you really deserve it. The thing is that there’s always this guy that seems to get in your way, and is targeting the same position you are. The reality is that even though you might be better for that position, the big boss’ views might be quite different. This is something that happened with Brian Schottenheimer .
He has been working as the Jets’ offensive coordinator for about 3 years already, and recently he was a candidate for the head coach position. Sadly for him, they opted to hire Rex Ryan instead. This would normally affect someone deeply if ever it happened to them. They’d probably quit and look for opportunities elsewhere. Instead, Schottenheimer took it like a man, and decided that he would stay with the Jets.
He exhibited professionalism and strength by doing this. If ever the Jets’ season doesn’t go well, the Jets would probably realize that they might have made a big mistake in passing from him, and he’d probably get the position all along. If ever their season goes well, then this goes to say that they made the right decision and that he shouldn’t be a baby about it.
