January 24, 2010 by Rich Webb

Football fans will be looking forward to Miami next February when Dolphin Stadium will host both Super Bowl XLIV and the 2010 Pro Bowl. But since those two games are still months from now, fans were treated on Wednesday when the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee showed the logos for both of the big NFL games. In the Super Bowl 44 logo for, the “L” and the “I” they form a goal post and in the middle a football and on the far left and right there are two stars; that represented the AFC and the NFC. Super Bowl 44 banners and signs will soon be visible all over South Florida. You will see them in the newspapers and in TV very soon and by Christmas they will be shown all over the city as we closer to the Super Bowl season fever, Frank Supovitz NFL Senior Vice President of Special Events said.

Adding to the official presentation of the game logos, a news conference also had new data about the games, activities, ticket sales, and volunteer opportunities. Super Bowl XLIV will commence on 7 February 2010 at the Dolphin Stadium. It will be the 10th time that South Florida is hosting a Super Bowl game which is record-breaking. Pro Bowl 2010 will be played a week earlier the Super Bowl, on 31 January 2010 and also at Dolphin Stadium. It will be the first time after 30 years that the Pro Bowl will not be played in Hawaii. South Florida hosted it last in 1975 at the Orange Bowl. Officially CBS4 is the home of Super Bowl XLIV. Tickets for the Pro Bowl will first be made available to season ticket holders of the Dolphins in July.

There will be no campaign ad Interference for the Super Bowl. The Fox Network will not sell advertising time to a political candidate during the Super Bowl, according to reports published. The game will begin on February 3, two days before the primaries of the important day, Super Tuesday. The industry publication Advertising Age made a report on its web site today that Fox has decided not to sell air time to candidates since it cannot accommodate them all.

Fox lawyers asked the Federal Communications Commission regulations to give an explanation about the company’s decision. Fox comply with all legal regulations with regards to selling time for candidates, including requirements that apply to broadcast like Super Bowl, this was said by a Fox spokesperson told AdAge. Fox can refuse to sell air time in this situation and can use the FCC ruling that turning down candidates is reasonable in unique, broadcasts where equal ad time cannot be given to all candidates, the report said.
