Super Bowl 44 Dungy Predicts Colts To Win
February 3, 2010 by Rich Webb
Tony Dungy a former Colts coach and NFL analyst made his fearless Super Bowl 44 prediction on Friday. An interview was conducted by Eyewitness Sports and he was asked what two teams will make it to the Super Bowl 44 on February 7 at South Florida. The answer he gave was that it will be the winner of the game between the Colts’ and San Diego. For him that’s going to play out. San Diego has always given their team a hart time even before. And for him it will be the Colts. He thinks that they are ready to go and they will have a chip on their shoulder from all the debate about 16-0. And about the NFC, he is picking a dark horse. Green Bay is going to win three road games and they are playing good football. They’ve got a blasting defense. They can create destruction and receivers can score points. So for him, it will by Indy versus Green Bay in the Super Bowl, Dungy said.
Since Dungy picked his former team to go all out and win all the way, is he having any second thoughts of giving up his work and going for a second Super Bowl ring. He answered no and he hopes it turns out that way. He will be very happy for the team and for Jim Caldwell. The same things come about in ‘02. This is one of the reasons why he is picking the Colts. He left Tampa and they won the next year. He thinks history will repeat itself, Dungy said. For the Colts to make a comeback to the Super Bowl, they have to win two games in Indianapolis. Dungy believes the Colts will get back for a rematch with the New York Jets. This is the team that stopped their winning streak because of many of the Colts starters with injuries sitting on the bench. They will bring up that exciting rematch and people will again talk about the 16-0 again.
The Colts are having a great start in the games. He is thinking they would win against the Jets, Dungy added. When speaking of the Most Valuable Player this year in the NFL, for Dungy he thinks it will be Peyton Manning. What he was able to do in the first fourteen games and ball throwing and all the fourth quarter rallies. The coach was also asked how this year’s team stacks up versus the Super Bowl team winner. Probably this year they are playing better on defense all through the course of the year. Dungy is impressed with the young players who are stepping up in on defense.
