Super Bowl 1981

22 FBSuper Bowl 1981, this is also known as the Super Bowl XV.  It is a game played by the American Football on January 25, 1981.  It was held in New Orleans, Louisiana at Louisiana Superdome to decide the National Football League champion following the 1980 regular season.  The Oakland Raider from the AFC defeated the Philadelphia Eagles from NFC to the tune of 27-10 to be the first wild card playoff team to have a Super Bowl title.  The jump start of the Raiders with a score of 14-0 lead in only the first quarter and the Eagles never equaled. 

Jim Plunkett the quarterback of the Oakland was named MVP of the Super Bowl. In completing 13 of 21 passes for a distance of 261 yards and three touchdowns.  They also made a rushing for 9 yards. Plunkett is the second recipient of the Heisman Trophy winner to be given the honor of being a Super Bowl MVP after Super Bowl VI Roger Stanbach.  This is the story of the Super Bowl 1981.
