Colts Will Do Everything to Win

While The New Orleans Saints makes you feel that it is very easy, the Indianapolis Colts makes it look so hard and complicated to win. They are using unlike roads but are going into the same place which is, 11-0. But the fact is that the Colts are stressed to get it done on a day to day basis. The Colts have proud achievements than what is recorded. They would strive to consistently give the performances that the Saints gave in defeating the New England Patriots, 38-17 last Monday.
Still it is a fact that they are exactly opposite does not mean the Colts are not prepared to be a force in the postseason as the other team in perfection. What really matters now is that they are doing what is needed to give themselves the best chance to succeed in the playoffs. They already got the AFC South and with only five weeks to go in the regular season, they only have a little problem to be the No. 1 seed.
MVP Race Dominated By Qbs

The most heated debate in any sport is who the Most Valuable Player will be. It is not only due to the fact that there are at more than half dozen deserving candidates. But another argument is it the team or the leagues best player. After 10 games, Indianapolis and New Orleans are the only teams with out any loss. There is no question that Drew Bees of the Saints and Peyton Manning of the Colts would be on top of the MVP race on both criteria. Taking away any of them from their respective team would mean a disaster for that team. They are breaking the defense of the other teams with ease.
By the seasons end, Brady, McNabb, Peterson, Palmer and Favre will be in the MVP race with Brees and Manning. The argument for Most Invaluable Player (MIP) is also present. This list is even much longer and maybe more interesting. It’s a list that contains players who are instrumental to the outcome of their teams. The standing of their teams are a consequence of the mishaps they have done.

The weekend games, we have a clearer picture of how the playoffs could be for some of teams. Now, real show is between New England against New Orleans Both of these teams seem poised to capture the AFC East and NFC South, respectively, so this is more about The Big Game than anything else. In order to get a shot for a possible Super Bowl preview, an interview was conducted with some general managers who played either New Orleans or New England.
There are doubts that New Orleans’ defense can hold up against Welker, Moss and Brady. These opinions came from men whose clubs played against New Orleans or New England. The Saints defense is not the best, said one GM. The secondary is solid but some are injured. It would be great if they can get Jabari Greer the cornerback back in their team, then that could have a good barrier since he is huge and he will be their best cover guy.

For two straight weeks the New Orleans Saints manage to return from four turnovers to stay perfect with a 35-27 victory against the Atlanta Falcons last Monday night. This equaled the franchise history’s best start. Only the Saints in 1991 had an opening season with the same number of wins.
Brees had two turnovers and passed 308 yards with two scores. Thomas had a fumbled but also scored two touchdowns. Greer burned for a deep touchdown but redeemed him self with an interception for a 48-yard score. His touchdown was this season’s fifth score from an interception. It tied the 1998 single-season franchise mark. This gave a helping hand to the Saints 7-0. Sean Payton their coach said they did a lot of things well but in the end also did some errors that made it close. It is exciting to win specially against a division team and he is very proud of his players.
New Orleans Wins Superbowl Bid

Super Bowl city is again New Orleans. NFL owners voted to play in New Orleans the 2013 Super Bowl. This will be the first time the championship will be played there after the devastating Hurricane Katrina destroyed some parts of the Superdome in Louisiana. The hurricane brings about 1,600 deaths and destroyed large parts of the Gulf Coast four years ago. Len Pasquarelli said that the league made a very good decision in awarding the 2013 Super Bowl to New Orleans.
This could be an economic boost that the game can provide. New Orleans won against Miami that is looking for a record 11th Super Bowl, and 2008 host Glendale, Ariz. This will be the 10th time New Orleans will host the Super Bowl site. The owner of the Saints Tom Benson said that they are thrilled that they are going to get a new Superdome and a Super Bowl in it. It is great that the New Orleans Wins Superbowl the Bid.
Saints Still Undefeated Vs. Giants
October 21, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment
Drew Brees stopped the torch of the Giants’ defense, swarming Saints defenders jammed Eli Manning’s homecoming and undefeated New Orleans equaled its best start since 1993 with a 48-27 beating the previously unbeaten New York on Sunday. Brees said they wanted to dictate the tempo of the game all the way. The bit thing is that seven guys scored touchdowns. This is the type of rhythm that you feel like you can call anything and it works.
Brees finished his two game streak without a touchdown throw by completing 23 of 30 passes for 369 yards and four scores. This gave him 101 TD passes since he was signed up by the Saints as a free agent in 2006. The Giants (5-1) started the game with an average of 210.6 yards and 14.2 points while the Saints (5-0) had 34 points and 315 yards by halftime. The Saints have beaten all comers by more than 13 points and have yet to trail this season, making them the team to beat.
Thomas Never Doubted He’d Come Back Strong
October 9, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment
Pierre Thomas put on around 10 pounds during the offseason, hoping that would make him more in the image of ex-Saints power runner Deuce McAllister. Maintaining the additional bulk proved harder than Thomas expected, first because of a right knee sprain and then because of a virus two weeks ago that made it hard for him to keep food down.
Thomas sat out the Saints’ season-opener against Detroit because of the lasting effects of his knee injury and rarely got on the field against Philadelphia in Week 2. The Saints did not make Thomas a normal part of the offense until the second half of their victory at Buffalo, one night after he was vomiting in his hotel room. He then ran for 126 yards and two touchdowns in the span of a mere two quarters. In the Saints’ 24-10 victory over the New York Jets last Sunday, with Drew Brees held under 200 yards passing, Thomas had 86 yards rushing and 46 yards receiving. His 36-yard gain on a screen pass gave the Saints a first down at the Jets’ 1-yard line in the first half. He accelerated swiftly into open spaces and ruined several tackles, his feet always churning until he was finally brought down.
D Propels Undefeated Saints Past Jets

A fresh start with the New Orleans Saints marked the return of “the shake” back in 33-year-old Darren Sharper. The NFL’s active leader in career interceptions had two more against rookie Mark Sanchez, returning one for a club-record 99 yards for a touchdown to aid the undefeated Saints hand the New York Jets their first defeat of the season, 24-10 on Sunday. Sharper’s trademark shoulder-shaking revelry are becoming an illustration of a defense that can now take recognition for leading New Orleans to victory after taking the fault for the Saints’ failure to make the playoffs the past two seasons.
The win ensured the Saints, who have a bye week next week, would still be undefeated when they play host to the New York Giants on Oct. 18. The Giants host the listless Oakland Raiders next weekend, giving them a great shot at staying undefeated as well. The Jets-Saints matchup drew a lot of interest not only because it was the weekend’s only game between unbeaten teams, but also because it pitted a fearsome defense designed by Jets coach Rex Ryan against the Saints’ league-leading offense, driven by Brees’ creative passing and the imaginative play calling of head coach Sean Payton.
NFL Vegas Odds of Jets+7 at Saints

Everyone had thought that the Jets were going to lose this game being their second road game vs. the very energetic Saints… But from the looks of it, everyone is beginning to get swayed in the other direction having watched the Saints battle the Bills. The Saints did not in any way dominate that game. If the Bills don’t fumble a punt it’s a 7-7 game deep into it. The running yards they put up against a banged up Bills D all came late into the game, they were stat inflators and that’s all, with the Bills giving up on the last drive the Saints had for a TD.
On the other hand the JETS have beaten some formidable competition. They totally shut down a dynamic Texan offense without any problems at all. They held the Pats to basically nothing. The Titans came in hungry and the Jets got a lot of lucky breaks but once their defense put the clamps on, the Titans couldn’t move the ball. Expect the Jets to have no problem moving the ball and to take deliberately long drives to keep Drew Brees on the sideline. Leon should have a huge game and if anyone expects Sanchez to start making enormous mistakes against this malleable Saints D, you are probably wrong.
Breaking News For New Orleans Saints
October 3, 2009 by Sherry Ingram · Leave a Comment
ESPN is reporting that New Orleans Pro Bowl tackle Jamal Brown has been moved to injured reserve with a hip/hernia injury that he has been battling since training camp. Normally when a team loses a pro bowler they feel it but New Orleans can’t even tell that he is missing. They have had over 100 yards rushing the past three games. Brees has had plenty of time passing the ball. This past weekend against the Bills, the Saints had a third string tackle in on the game. The Saints rushed for over 200 yards in that game against the Bills. Reggie Bush even had over 50 yards rushing. Also each of the running backs who carried the ball averaged over 4.5 yards a carry without having the pro bowl tackle in the game.
Now of course it’s nice to see that we have depth at this roster spot. That’s also why they went ahead and placed him on IR, to free a roster spot to replace the depth at that spot. Jamal Brown will be back next season and ready to go. Question is will the Saints still need his services.
